Welwyn Garden City is our closest town of any size, three miles up the road, and a good share of the people who come regularly are driving no further than they would to the supermarket. That changes what the visit is — for most of them it is not an outing, it is an hour slotted into a day.

It also means we hear the same practical question more than the nervous one: can I get there and back on a lunch break, or after work, without it eating the evening. Usually yes.

Where to park

Pull into our road and there are dedicated bays on the left, signed for the spa. The entrance is directly ahead of them.

If you live this close

The thing local people ask, and rarely ask outright, is whether anyone will know. Nothing about the visit is recorded anywhere it could surface. We take cash, so there is no card statement carrying our name. Booking puts you on no list, and there is no confirmation email and no follow-up text unless you ask for one.

Staff do not discuss who has been in, including with other guests — and from three miles away, some of those guests are neighbours.
