What we hold, and for how long

The Maltings Naturist Spa, 113-115 Codicote Road, Welwyn, Hertfordshire AL6 9TY, is the data controller. If you use the enquiry form we hold your name, phone number and message so we can ring you back, and we delete it within three months. We do not sell data and we do not share anything with anyone. There is a newsletter, but only people who signed up to it themselves are on it — booking has never added anybody. To have your record removed, ring 01438 820224 and ask.

What the enquiry form collects

Your name, a phone number, optionally an email address, which massage you are asking about, and whatever you write in the message box. That is all it asks for and all it stores. It is used for one thing: ringing you back about your enquiry.

Enquiries are deleted within three months. If you would rather yours went sooner, ring and say so — it takes a moment and nobody will ask why.

What we deliberately do not do

Booking does not put you on anything. You will not get a text, an email or a follow-up call about anything other than the enquiry you made, and nothing you do here is used to market to you afterwards. Nothing is passed to another company, and nothing is sold.

We do send a newsletter, but it is a separate thing you have to go and ask for, and it is not connected to anybody's bookings — see below.

Payment is cash only, so we hold no card details and nothing appears on a bank statement. That is a deliberate choice rather than an accident, and it is one of the reasons people use us.

We do not photograph anyone on the premises, and no photographs of guests appear anywhere on this site.

The newsletter

There is a newsletter you can sign up to at newsletter signup. Nobody is added to it for booking, for enquiring, or for having been here. The only way onto it is to fill that form in yourself, and the only thing it takes to come off it is one click in any email we send.

We hold your email address and the date you signed up. Not your name, not your phone number, and nothing about what you have booked or whether you have ever been here. The list cannot be matched up with anything else we hold, because there is nothing in it to match on.

If you are getting these and you never signed up, somebody has mistyped their own address. Use the unsubscribe link and you are off it immediately, or ring 07864 985079 and we will take it off for you.

The lawful basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it whenever you like — there is an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email, it takes one click, and it does not ask you why. We keep your address until you do that. If you would rather not use the link, ring 07864 985079 and ask, and it comes off the same day.

The list is held by Mailchimp, which is run by Intuit and stores data in the United States. Signing up means your email address is transferred there under the UK's approved safeguards for international transfers. If you would rather that did not happen, do not sign up — nothing else on this site involves them.

Bookings made by phone

A booking taken over the phone is written in the diary with a first name and a number so we can ring if something changes. It is not kept beyond the booking. Calls are not recorded.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It records pages viewed, roughly where in the country the visit came from, and whether a phone or WhatsApp button was tapped. It does not record who you are, and we cannot connect a visit to a person.

It does set a cookie. If you would rather it did not, most browsers can block cookies for a single site, and private or incognito windows discard them when you close the window. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.

The rota, the team and the blog

The therapist list, the rota and the gallery are maintained by us and contain no information about visitors. Therapists appear by first name only, with their agreement, and can be removed on request.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Ring 01438 820224 or email admin@themaltingsnaturistspa.co.uk. There is no form to fill in and we will not ask you to justify it.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this page

If what we do changes, this page changes with it. It was last reviewed in August 2026.
